World Peace Mission Condemns Barbaric Arson Attack on Jacobabad Village

A horrifying incident from near Jacobabad has once again exposed the dark reality of tribal violence feudal oppression and human rights abuses in rural Pakistan. More than 150 houses in village Mirpur Buriro were reportedly set ablaze after a free-will marriage between two consenting adults triggered violent retaliation from armed groups linked to tribal influence and social intolerance.
According to reports Sidra Channa from the Channa community married Muhammad Hassan Buriro from the Buriro community by choice. Following their marriage the couple released a public video appeal requesting protection and justice fearing for their lives due to threats and rising tensions. Instead of respecting their basic human right to choose their life partner armed men allegedly attacked Hassan Buriro’s village reducing homes household belongings life savings and dowries prepared for young girls to ashes. Innocent families including women children and the elderly were collectively punished for a personal decision that harmed no one.
Burning entire neighborhoods because two adults chose to marry is not honor tradition or cultural protection. It is mob violence collective punishment and a complete collapse of humanity and rule of law. The fact that a couple must publicly beg for protection simply for exercising personal freedom reflects the dangerous grip of tribal mentality intolerance and fear that still dominates many rural areas of Pakistan. In several parts of Sindh and Punjab feudal systems continue to control people’s personal lives where local landlords and influential tribal actors often dictate marriages social behavior and even access to justice. Local police stations and courts are frequently accused of operating under the influence of these powerful groups leaving ordinary villagers defenseless.
For decades so-called honor crimes and forced social control have deprived countless Pakistanis of their fundamental rights. However the situation is now becoming even more alarming where entire communities are being targeted and destroyed over individual choices. No society can progress when love consent and personal freedom are answered with violence arson and terror.

World Peace Mission International strongly condemns this barbaric incident and demands an immediate judicial inquiry the arrest of all individuals involved in the attack and speedy justice for the innocent victims. The organization further demands full security and legal protection for the married couple whose lives remain under serious threat along with compensation and rehabilitation for the affected families whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed. Those responsible for this cruel act must be held fully accountable under the law so that such inhumane crimes are never repeated again.
